Syngenta/ChemChina Deal Could Meet April 28 Close Date: SCORPEO

(Bloomberg) — Following FTC approval of Syngenta/ChemChina deal, move conservative closure date to May 31 from June 30, SCORPEO Analytics says in emailed comments.

* Says now an increasing probability that the deal can meet the current April 28 extended offer close date

* FTC cooperated with antitrust agencies in Australia, Canada, EU, India and Mexico

* Mexico’s COFECE have updated their approval timetable for the Syngenta/ChemChina deal

* Next session of COFECE will sit on April 6, and will review the deal

* European Union’s Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager is holding a press conference at 12pm CET on two mergers

* SCORPEO sees possible EU approvals press release ~10.30am-11am U.K. time

* India remains under review, and ex-Mofcom is only remaining antitrust with timeline “uncertainty,” estimate April 12 for a decision

* NOTE: March 15 PaRR reported SYT/ChemChina was making progress

* Deal parties are said to be pushing for Mofcom approval by May, or possibly April; NDRC no longer analysing deal, an agency official told PaRR

* Syngenta shares gain 1.2%
